The Trane DHY1478 is a replaceable line drier designed to protect compressors in Trane HVAC systems with capacities of up to 7.5 tons. This is a service-first component that acts using a filter to remove harmful moisture, acid, and debris from the refrigerant line before it reaches the compressor. Moisture can cause corrosion, ice buildup, and decreased efficiency, acid and debris can damage compressor components. The Trane DHY1478’s 41 cubics desiccant core absorbs pollutants, increasing compressor life, improving system reliability, and maintaining maximum cooling performance.
