Description
The Carrier 4356 Drain Spud is a relatively tiny part but holds a significant role in most HVAC systems. Most often, it is made of plastic and it is threaded so that it can easily screw into the drain pan. Condensate, or moisture, falls from the upper box during the cooling of the metal. The drain spud collects this condensate and guides it clear of the HVAC equipment. This prevents build-up of mold and possibly water damage to property such as furniture and fixtures. The Carrier Drain Spud is easy to install since it is small in size 1 inch by 1.25 inch by 1.4 inch.
