Description
The Sporlan Controls 402010 C-R424-G is a filter-drier shell intended for use in refrigeration and air conditioning applications. A changeable filter element that collects impurities such as dirt, debris, and metal particles floating in the refrigerant is housed within the filter-drier shell. These impurities have the potential to cause malfunctions, damage system components, and diminish efficiency. By capturing these contaminants, the filter element shields the system from their harmful effects. A moisture-absorbing substance called a desiccant is also incorporated into the shell. As refrigerant passes through the system, it can pick up moisture from the air around it. This moisture can lead to a number of problems, including corrosion, freezing, and decreased system performance. These possible issues are avoided by the filter-drier shell’s desiccant, which actively draws moisture out of the refrigerant.
