Description
The Lennox 97M59 Defrost Thermostat Sensor Discharge is an essential part that is used in Lennox heat pumps. This sensor works like an unseen protector and constantly measures the temperature of a coil during the defrosting mode to avoid formation of ice layers. This sensor measures the temperature of the defrost coil. When the temperature gets to the open threshold the program commands the system to defrost the accumulated ice. When the temperature is near the close threshold, the sensor informs the system to go back to normal mode. The sensor maintains the defrost cycle in order to reduce formation of ice on the coils which may limit the flow of hot air in the oven.
