Description
The York S1-031-01251-000 Defrost Control Board is a part of heat pump systems its function is to regulate the activity of defrosting to provide optimal performance in colder climates. This control board is monitoring a number of sensors to locate any of the frost build up on the outside coil. Frost changes the board state to a defrost cycle which lasts for a short time, interrupting heat pump operations to melt the frost that threatens efficiency and heat transfer. This procedure helps in eliminating ice formation hence reducing on its effect on the heat pump so that it uses more energy.
