The Xylem-Hoffman Specialty 404204 Ft075H-3 ¾ inch 75 F & T Trap is not part of HVAC equipment. It is a plumbing trap used to stop undesirable trash and sewer gases from getting into a building through the drain system. This U-shaped trap is usually installed under sinks and works by holding a small amount of water in its curving bend.Sewer gasses are effectively captured by this water barrier, although wastewater can still flow through.Installation and connecting to existing piping are made easier by the F & T connections on either end of the trap. This Xylem-Hoffman model is designed for applications with a maximum pressure of 75 psi and is made of sturdy cast iron for long-term performance.
