Note: Inlet and outlet connections are interchangeable. The swivel garden hose fitting typically goes on the inlet side. Removing the brass fittings exposes standard ¾” female NPT threads.
USING THE BYPASSSpot-Free Mode: Turn the red handles so they point toward and away from the tank. Use this for your final rinse.
Bypass Mode: Turn the red handles so they point toward each other. Use this for soaping and scrubbing — it preserves your resin for when it matters most.
MAINTENANCE & RESIN REPLACEMENT
Your WashPak is ready for a resin change with SAP-MB50 resins or SAP-MB50 resins with funnel when the outlet TDS reads above 20 ppm or water spots reappear.
- Disconnect fittings by unscrewing the black rings counter-clockwise.
- Remove the head by holding the tank steady and unscrewing the head counter-clockwise, then lift straight up.
- Empty old resin by inverting the tank — a garden hose or wet/dry vacuum helps. Old resin is non-hazardous.
- Cover the center pipe with a cap or tape before refilling.
- Fill with fresh DI resin using a funnel. Tap the tank sides with a rubber mallet to pack the resin tightly. Store leftover resin in its bag.
- Reinstall the head after cleaning the sealing surfaces and O-rings. Use silicone-based lubricant (e.g., Lube-111) — avoid petroleum jelly, which degrades the seals over time.

– You will need NOT to fill this tank with resin yourself when you receive it.
