Description
The International Comfort Products (ICP) 1380687 Flame Sensor is a crucial safety component in gas-fueled HVAC systems. It detects the presence of a flame within the burner assembly. This sentry-like device functions by sensing the ultraviolet radiation emitted by a burning flame. If the sensor doesn’t detect a flame, it signals the control board to shut down the gas supply, preventing dangerous gas leaks. This compact component, typically measuring between 1 and 3 inches in length, is very thin (0.02 to 0.04 inches thick), and weighs a mere 0.03 lbs. It operates within a wide temperature range, from -40°C to 100°C, ensuring reliable performance in various climates.
