The Carrier HT32BH291 Crankcase Heater is a heating element used in Carrier oil-fired furnace verification required for use with other brands. This is a long and low profile heater that surrounds the lower part of the crankcase in the same way like an electric heating pad. Thus, the engine crankcase heater makes it easier for the furnace to start up if used in a cold region by warming up the oil in advance. Starting with warmer oil can prevent friction between the internal parts of the furnace and therefore reduce their rate of depreciation. As expected of any component that is exposed to the heat and environment within the furnace, the crankcase heater is made to last.
