Description
The Aaon R42680 Discharge Temperature Sensor/Thermistor measures the refrigerant part at the compressor outlet in air conditioning and heat pump systems. Insert it into the discharge line where hot, high-pressure gas exit the compressor before reaching the condenser coil. The 7/8″ tube design fit in standard refrigerant piping found in rooftop unit, HVAC systems and split configurations. As temperatures fluctuate, the thermistor electrical resistance change proportionally, sending precise data to system controller for capacity modulation and safety monitoring. It enables the unit to optimize cooling output, prevent compressor overheating and adjust operation based on actual discharge conditions rather than estimated values.
