The Carrier 48EJ403571 heat exchanger is the component in HVAC system that is used to transfer heat between two or more fluids. Usually placed on the right side of the unit, it has a gasket already inserted to guarantee its proper installation. In an air conditioner, the heat exchanger causes heat from the warm air within a room to be transferred onto the refrigerant and expelled outside. During heating mode, the process is a little different, where the heat exchanger cools the air external to the building and uses refrigerant gas to heat the internal air.
