Description
The Lennox 51M14 Flame Sensor is a critical safety component found in Lennox gas-fired furnaces. It safeguards against gas leaks by detecting the presence of a flame within the burner assembly. If a flame is burning, the sensor transmits a signal to the control board, allowing the furnace to operate normally. In the absence of a detected flame, the sensor triggers a safety shut-off, stopping the gas flow and preventing the furnace from functioning. This small but essential component, typically ranging from 3 to 4 inches in length and 0.02 to 0.06 inches thick, is built to withstand the extreme temperatures present within a furnace, ranging from 1000°F to 2000°F.
