Description
The Carrier HT32CH229 is an essential part called a crankcase heater intended for Carrier HVAC equipment, particularly for the equipment with crankcases, probably, compressors in refrigerators or air conditioners. This long and narrow heating element is installed around the crankcase to provide heat during start up or in cold climate. It is usually 96” long and extends around the crankcase diameter of 5- 6 ½”. When it is energized it produces heat that warms the oil in the crankcase. The heater preheats the crankcase oil, thus enabling easier startups, especially during the cold periods, thus relieving the compressor. Enhanced oil circulation during start-up reduces the stress on the compressor and may consequently prolong.
