Description
The Trane CNT0915 De-Ice Control is an electronic component specifically for Trane heat pumps. During cold weather operation, it prevents ice buildup on the outdoor heat pump coil. The heat pump can be substantially hindered in its efficiency and performance by this build-up. The De-Ice Control monitors temperature sensors outdoor coil. The control activates a defrost cycle when the temperature reaches a pre-set threshold indicating potential frost formation. The heat pump’s cycle typically reverses the flow of the refrigerant or activates the heating elements to melt any ice that has accumulated, as well as to maintain efficient heating in cold weather.
