Description
The Trane CNT1695 is a defrost control, which is an essential part of the refrigeration system such as heat pumps and some air conditioners used in the cold climate. It avoids icing up the outdoor coil during the defrost cycle. Temperature sensing is done on the coil. If there is frost and the temperature goes below a certain level, the defrost control starts the defrost process. It temporarily does what it takes to change the direction of the refrigerant flow causing the indoor coil to warm up and hence melt the frosting on the outside coil.
